Pelican of the Eucharist was painted for my oldest son's friends Ordination to the Priesthood. He used the image on prayer cards and has the original hanging in his office where his the chaplain at a high school. He requested it for the beautiful image of Christ in the pelican's instinct to feed her young. If there is no food to be found, she will pierce her chest to feed her young, likewise, Jesus was offered his life as the ultimate sacrifice for us and nourishes us with the Eucharist. It was an honor to paint.
